Trophy Takers Code Of Ethics

One of the aims of Trophy Takers is to foster and encourage awareness amongst our members of the environment and wildlife conservation. We are sports people who enjoy and appreciate the outdoors and as such are responsible to adhere to the strict rules of the code of ethics that enhances our sport.

1. Respect the interests of private and public land-holders by gaining prior permission to hunt on each and every occasion.

2. Be familiar with property boundaries to eliminate trespassing on adjoining properties without prior consent.

3. Leave all property gates as found or as advised by the owner. Do not disturb livestock and report observations i.e. the welfare of stock in distress.

4. Do not cut standing timber without permission of the owner.

5. Ensure campfire safety and that all fires are properly extinguished.

6. Bury all scraps and remove all rubbish for later disposal. Leave no trace of your presence at the camp site.

7. Do not disturb the environment

8. Hunt only legal game with the necessary permission, in a sportsman like manner. Ensuring a quick clean kill with sharp broadheads and appropriate weight hunting bow.

9. It is the hunters responsibility to hunt down and despatch as fast as humanely possible all wounded game.

10. Obey all safety rules of bowhunting and exercise common sense in the conduct of the hunt. Be responsible to the sport for personal behaviour.

All Trophy Takers members are responsible to the Board of Directors for conduct which may be detrimental to the best interests of the organisation.
