Jim Craze has rated his best Fallow Buck to date, taken in the rut of 09 the buck scored 188 3/8 DS, Jim also continues to show his excellent skill on the Sambar rating a mal form Stag and a Hind of late, very, very well done Jim and congratulations!

Ron McGrath has rated his PB goat which went 106 2/8 DS and a second that went 99 4/8 DS while in the hills, and to add near 40C temps into the mix and you have some hard earned trophies, great effort mate!

James Warne and two new friends have had a good run of late, James managed to down a very good Billy that could have been even better but unfortunately about 2 inches missing off one side which brought the score down a bit to 114 3/8 DS, and also made it just under that magic 40 inch mark also, still a very good looking goat mate, well done!
Also on this weekend trip was James new friend and new TT member Kris Norman, he managed to down a very good Billy for this novice bowhunter, it scored 111 2/8 DS, congratulation Kris and welcome to TT!
The next new friend of Warny’s (he has so many, hes a top bloke!) is Leigh Cragg, he was on a trip with James up at the Cape this year and also managed a PB Boar and joined TT with the very fine 28 4/8 DS trophy, again congratulations Leigh and welcome to TT!

Brett Castles also rated his awesome Red Stag taken while hunting in New Zealand back in 2000, the majestic animal scores 332 6/8 DS and places No.1 in the overseas rated game for Red deer, excellent Brett congratulations again!

New TT number 1 Hog Deer has been taken by Jordy Appleby, the brilliant 13inch long old Stag was taken with 1 arrow out of his BowTech Tribute at less than 25 metres, absolutely brilliant trophy Jordy, Congratulations!

Ben Salleras has taken two very, very impressive Buffalo of late, the huge beasts were taken down with his trusty Mathews, and they scored an impressive 96 and 92 9/8 DS, congratulations Ben!

Peter and Nathan Cocking have been chasing the goats in the Barcaldine heat and managed to take there best goats yet. Peters best Billy scored 104 DS and Nathan’s went 95 6/8 DS, well done guys!

Steven Nowlan is no stranger to big goats he managed to take a 113 6/8 DS Billy just recently, the big bodied goat only has a narrow spread abut makes up for it in the curl department, a very impressive goat mate well done!

New member Shane McNaughton joined TT with his best goat to date, the 107 DS Billy which was taken from far out westen NSW, with his trusty X-Force. In tow on this trip was Pete Morphett who managed to down another 40 inch Billy which scored 116 6/8 DS, congratulations guys and welcome to TT Shane, I’m sure you will find that 52 inch monster that is there some ware next time!

News 16/10/09

Well the TT awards were a very big success with one of the best turn outs we have seen in many years, a big thank you must go to Mick and Cathy Kernaghan for so mush effort, it was really appreciated, it was a truly excellent event!

We have a few new members that joined TT on that weekend, and Todd McCabe joined with a very big trophy boar that scored 32 4/8 DS that he took in 2005, top stuff!

Kith Hill nocked over a good 24 DS Boar with his trusty recurve of late also, nice one mate!

New junior Peter Craze join TT ranks with one of his first Billies, that scored 94 6/8 DS, I guess it won’t be long before he out chasing Sambar with his Dad!

Another new junior from Cooma, young Glenn Payne also has excelled him self joining TT with two very fine Fallow bucks, the best scoring 201 5/8 DS and a respectable 183 1/8 and exceptional job for such a young bowhunter! Not to be left out Lee Payne has taken some fine game over 09, rating a nice 180 3/8 DS Fallow Buck and two very nice Foxes, which scored 10 1/16 and 9 13/16 respectfully, excellent stuff guys!

Young Scott Hardy shot a nice Billy which scored 100 4/8 DS, taken with his trusty recurve, well done mate!

Dave Sarroff has taken two PB’s of late, one being a 209 3/8 DS Fallow buck from the rut this year and very fine 117 DS Billy out of the mountains of late, very well done mate and congratulations!

While we are on PB’s Danny Bajt has rated a monster 235 4/8 DS Fallow buck from the rut of 2009, awesome stuff!

Chris Hervert long time TT member, has taken a very nice PB Fallow buck this year also, it scored 194 3/8 DS, it must have been his custom pink strings must have made all the difference we are guessing, but he doesn’t mind the colour as its matches his eyes after a big night, well done mate!

Brett Castles has taken a very nice 107 DS Sambar Stag with his trusty X-Force, that’s one mean feat and congratulations Brett on a very highly sort after trophy!

Last but not lease Rick Turner took two PB’S Billies while on a hunt with Wayne Preece, they scored 120 3/8 and 114 DS, very nicely done mate!

Trophy Takers website V3.0 is launched!

Dave Roughton joined TT with PB goat he took with his trusty recurve not long back the big fella scored 130 6/8 DS, well done Dave and welcome to TT!

Also joining the ranks of TT were, Jodi, Nathan, Luke Charnock , with Billies scoring 94 3/8, 90 6/8, and 95 3/8 respectfully, welcome to TT guys, nicely done!

John Bates rated a PB Fox also the big dog was called into close range and dispatched with one neat arrow, well done mate!

Well the annual TT awards is on this weekend hope to see you all there!

Sadly we morn the loss of one of TTs most dedicated bow hunters, Perdo Lever was never out of the ratings with his dedication to bow hunting was second to none, TT would like to pass on our deepest condolences to Perdo’s family and his many, many friends, TT has lost one of it funniest characters and he will be sorely missed, may he R.I.P.

Dave Whiting TT president, has taken a monster Fallow Buck with his Badlands recurve, the stalk is one those that also will go down as one of his best, after a long extended stalk and crawling over who knows how much ground Dave was almost was going to take a shot from 40, in the early first part of the stalk, but by pressing his luck and lady luck was by Dave’s side, he managed to inch and steal more and more ground on the Buck and by pushing his luck further and further, and pinching more and more ground, to where he had managed get passed all the surrounding does, and finally was within 20 metres from the rutting Buck! Dave’s luck continued to improve, the Buck sat to take a well earned rest from chasing the girls around, he beaded facing away as luck would have it allowing Dave to get that perfect shot on the awesome trophy, the massive Buck only made it short distance away from Dave before going down, the Buck later scored 239 DS and now sits in the No.3 spot, what a trophy of a life time, congratulations Dave, awesome effort indeed!

Dave also took another very good Billy in that week of hunting deer, it scored 114 7/8 DS, another very fine Goat trophy to add to his very impressive collection, well done mate!
Shane Dupille had taken another two very good Billies of late, the best scoring a big 125 7/8 DS and the other a respectable 109, really well done mate!

Mark Wills has taken a P.B. Red Stag from around home during the rut of 09, the big Stag scored and very impressive 302 2/8 DS and sits in the No.3 position, this would make most bowhunters smile? He also managed to reduce the local Goat population and nail two very good Billies of late, the scored 112 1/8 and 107 2/8 DS, Congratulations Mark on the excellent trophies you would have to be a happy man, inside!

Peter Morphett has been on role this for year again for taking quality deer, he has just taken his P.B. Chital, the very impressive Stag was taken after and long and arduous crawl and over basalt rocks and though millions of spear grass seeds to get in position and get a shot at the spotted devil from 55 metres, the Stag later scored 177 1/8 DS and sits in the No.5 position, awesome Pete, congratulations the effort payed off big time!

Paul Southwell, is has fast become a Chital’s worst nightmare has taken another very fine Stag recently, the Stag was taken at a mere 12 metres as it feed up to and past Paul while he was lying in wait, the Stag scored 164 5/8 DS, again another quality trophy for Paul and congratulations mate, you have the Chital down pat!

New TT Member Ben Salleras has joined our ranks with two impressive Chital Stags also, they where taken in 07 and 08 and score 163 2/8 and 151 5/8 DS, so welcome Ben to T.T. and congratulations on two very impressive trophies mate!

Darrel Warren also join the TT with a very, very good Billy he took back 1992, which scored 126 DS, again welcome Darrel to TT and well done!

Rodney Collings joined TT with a fine Chital Stag just recently, as we all know Chital must be the hardest deer species to take with archery equipment in Australia so congratulations Rodney on the 141 6/8 DS Stag and welcome to TT!

Pete Morphett has nailed an even bigger Fallow Buck this year, to firmly cement his position in at number 2, rating a massive 245 DS Buck, the big red common Buck was taken at 55m after many hours of planning and stalking to get close enough to the very nervous animal, and we know they should be when Pete’s on their trail, awesome trophy Pete and congratulations! Pete also managed to take the very illusive Sambar Hind with his trusty BowTech Tribute just after he took his new PB Buck on a separate hunt while down in Vic, congratulations on two very prised trophies Pete!

Mark Southwell managed to take a brilliant Red Stag over Easter period, the two Southwell boys have really improved on there PB Reds this with Marks scorning a very impressive 300 DS, and the big bodied Stag was taken with 1 arrow from about 35m! Paul Southwell also took another very impressive Stag while on the same trip and it scored 291 /38 DS, awesome effort guys, congratulations!

Now while the boys had a very mixed results on the fallow this year, James Warne has taken his first Fallow deer while with the Southwell’s on there Easter hunt, his obsession with the Billies goats lead to him crossing paths with a beaded Fallow Buck which he beautifully dispatched with 1 arrow and scores impressive 224 2/8 DS for his first Buck, congratulations James, what a way to start!

Jordy Appleby managed to get allot of Fallow hunting in this year while waiting for the birth of his 3rd child the keen deer hunter has managed to take an impressive Buck from around his home town, and with a brilliant hunt and story to go with it will defiantly makes his new PB Fallow Buck of 211 3/8 DS a stand out for him, congratulations Jordy very well done!

Jason Robinson has worked hard again this year with some big buck’s seen but some of the biggest fellas just slipped though Jason’s fingers, but he still has managed to take another top ranking Fallow Buck while on his usual month off, the big Buck scored an impressive 218 6/8 DS, and Jason managed score nice Billy Goat which went 101 2/8 DS recently also, big effort mate and congratulations again!

Nathan and Peter Cocking have been amongst the Billies again of late and young Nathan has taken his PB Billy of 103 2/8 DS and his dad nailed two more Billies in the high 90’s DS range also, congratulations guys!

Shane Dupille has taken another two Billies over 100 DS of late, and you can check them of in the 09 rating’s page, again well done Shane!

Ron McGrath has started the 2009 deer season of with a very fine Fallow buck which is also his first to boot, the 215 7/8 DS buck was taken at 35 metres with 1 arrow out of his trusty 09 X-Force, congratulations Ron very well done mate!

Casey McCallum rated a very good P.B. Buffalo he took while in N.T. last year the big bull scored 94 2/8 DS, and Casey also rated a battle hardened Fallow buck from the same year that scored over 201 DS also, well done mate!

Dave Hardy joined TT ranks with a nice 60 4/8 DS Billy, welcome Dave and well done!

Steven Holgate rated a good 107 7/8 Billy and 2 fine foxes he took a little while back that scored 10 and the other was in the high 9’s also he rated a big feral Cat that fell to his trusty compound which scored 7 10/16, nice one mate, very well done!

TT regular Tom Baxter rated a P.B. Billy of 113 7/8 DS and a fine P.B. Buffalo that scored 75 4/8 DS, he also added another fine Boar that went 25 4/8, which all fell to his trusty Black Widow Recurve, awesome stuff Tom, congratulation’s!

Paul Southwell nails another big Chital Stag, we hinted on some time back, we thought it might eclipse his pervious number 1 but it just missed the mark only by a little bit, still no ones complaining about the quality of these trophies, the final score was 180 DS neat, again congratulations on some really fine trophies there Paul!

Dale Furze and John Bates rated there P.B. Boars also of late, Dales scored 23 4/8 DS, and John’s went 27 6/8 DS, good stuff guys!

Luke Edwards rated some very good Boars that he took up the cape while with the Southwell’s in 2008, they scored respectfully, 26 6/8, 27 4/8 and his P.B. of 29, excellent Luke congratulations again!

Mick Kernaghan, mister I’m so lucky that I shoot Sambar while on the club course shooting targets, nailed another Sambar Hind just recently after a round on the 3D tragets around home recently, how lucky can you get mate, congratulations!

Shane Dupllie rated and fine Billy of 99 7/8 and Dave Keable rated a 28 point Boar, and Damian Gouveia rated his P.B. Billy which went 93 DS all taken recently while on weekend hunts around there homes, well done guys good to see you’re getting out and about!

News 07/02/09

New requirements for scoring of all Red deer has been implemented:

Following on from discussions at the 2008 Annual General Meeting, in future all Red Deer that are presented for entry into the TT ratings will have to have their whole skull intact for measurement.
This is to identify animals that are red/wapiti crossbreds (Hybrid).
(No skull capped animals or mounted trophies will be accepted in future)

TT will accept Hybrid deer after they have been correctly identified by accredited TT deer scorers and these unique trophies will be entered in the TT Exotic page.

TT reserves the right to reject any entries past or present that cannot suitably provide evidence to rule out or prove the purity of the entered trophies bloodline. Hunters should provide the whole skull with antlers attached, suitable pictures of hunter and trophy (field photos compulsory) and should also supply pictures of the caudal disc (Rump or Tail Section) to aid in animal identification. These photos should include a close up of the coral disc and a picture/s containing the whole animal including antlers and caudal disc in the same picture.
