Trevor Willis’s purple patch is still running strong in 2012, with Trevor taking another nice Fallow buck at 40m while hunting some steep mountain country. The buck scored 214+, but he was really after a nice Red Stag and he got a real good one, the very heavy brute was taken at about 25m, all caught nicely on video and the big Stag dropped with 50m, the 5x6 Stag later scored 247 3/8 DS and is Trevor PB!
Of late Trevor had been out with a few friends out west chasing a few boars and dropped many and rated the best on which scored 28 DS, also he rated two other Chital stags, 161 and 121+ respectfully which he took on the same trip earlier in the year when Trevor shot the previous number one Chital Stag, all at TT congratulate you Trevor on some more excellent trophies!

Sean Walsh and new TT member Jeremy Brown have been amongst the ever-growing pupations of Boars and Billie’s from out west since the drought broke, Sean has rated a heap of game, with a few Billie’s and Boars! Sean’s PB Billy scored 117 6/8 DS, and 112+ and 110+. The scored 24, 24 6/8 and 26 DS as well as a nice Fox and Feral Cat!
Jeremy Brow joined TT with an excellent PB Billy, which scored 123 4/8 DS, very well done guys and a big congratulations to you both and welcome to TT Jeremy!

Pete Morphett had a cracker of year on the Fallow even though he didn’t hunt any days during the rut, that’s right no rutting action saw Pete trick one buck in May too 10m and dispatch the 200+ Buck, then he tirelessly keep working a big fella for months till the Buck was tricked in to 15m in August, but picked Pete out in the bush line as he closed in on the presumed estrous doe, and trotted back out to 40m, where Pete nailed him as the Big Buck turned! The Buck is exceptionally wide with excellent guard tines and length and even which later when scored became Pete’s new PB, its one very impressive 245 5/8 DS Buck that’s for sure! Congratulations Pete awesome effort!

Paul Southwell and bother Mark went across the ditch, earlier in the year where they processed to run around some very, very steep and slippery mountains chasing Tahr, Paul put himself is some very stressful potentially life threatening situations in the steep stuff, and managed make it back alive and he took a very fine Bull Tahr indeed, it scored 31 4/8 DS, big crazy effort guys and well done! He also rated a very sort after Banteng bull, which he took on a northern hunting trip back in 09, the Banteng bull scored 6 4/8 DS, and is TT number one in this section, congratulations Paul!

Mark Wills and Steven Parker went chasing some Chital Stags after the TT awards function this year and Steven secured his first Chital with a bow and Wills’y shot a PB, Stevens scored 162 5/8 DS, and Wills’y went 170 6/8 DS, well done guys a top effort!

Jeremy Kelly joined TT with two very good trophies a 172 6/8 DS Rusa Stag and a Fallow Buck he took back 2009, which scored 221+, congratulations Jeremy and welcome to TT!

Manual Aguis manged to down a PB Fallow Buck while on a hunt during the Rut of 2012 with Chris Hervert, the nice Buck was taken at a mere 5 yards by Manual with his trusty Long Bow, with one of his own beautiful custom made arrows of course, the Buck scored 176 2/8 DS, congratulations Manual from all at TT!

Ben Salleras managed to take one very fine Rusa Stag this year after some long belly crawling through swamp and burs he managed to get with range of the 209+ Stag and taken him with one arows! This Stag slips into the number 4 position in the Rusa ratings, as always Ben very well done and congratulation from TT, also hope your trip to Canada on the Moose goes well!

New member Hardie McLaren joined TT with one massive Chital Stag recently the bomber of the Stag, the kiwi would have to be one happy camper with that as one of his first Stags, the Stag scored 195+ and takes the number 3 spot, which is impressive, congratulations Hardie and welcome to TT!

News 11/08/12

The Payne army have rated this year’s fallow rut effort and followed up with some Billie’s and Boar of a recent trip out west. First the Fallow bucks taken by lee scored 202 7/8 DS and 191+ while young Glen managed a few very nice bucks also they scored 190 7/8DS and 189 6/8DS and 178+, also Glen managed a PB Billy that went 117DS and another the scored 106+, and on the same trip Lee manage to down a very good boar that scored 29 4/8DS, and PB for him with his bow, Glen when back at home also nailed a few good foxes also they score 10 1/16DS and 9 15/16DS, well done as always guys, and congratulations on some fine trophies!

Ben Sallera’s rated a very nice Hog deer of late and a nice Red stag and two fine Billie’s, he also dusted off some very impressive boars tusks as well as a few in the last 12 months. The Hog deer score 81 6/8DS is one fine specimen Ben and the Red stag which scored 203+ is no slouch either and two nice Billie’s that scored 115+ and 106+ also he rated plenty of big tusky boars! The best going 30 6/8DS taken back in 05 and another very mean looking 29 6/8DS taken while he was just out of diapers by the look of the pic, anyway there are heap to check out in the ratings of his achievements from a very young age, and congratulations Ben so all your very special trophies from TT!

Mark Wills rated a very nice Fallow buck from this years rut, it scored 218DS, and the resident Rusa expert knocked another fine Stag this year early, it scored 193 3/8DS, as always Mark and his dedication to the sport is never wavering, and congratulations from all at TT!

James Warne has been amongst the big boars for last few months after success recovering from his ankle surgery to be out the paddling around all that abnormal amount of water for that part of the country and has managed to take some excellent tusky boars! The best scored 26 4/8DS and 25DS and the pictures setup and quality of the pic’s is excellent mate as well at the trophies in them, congratulations mate top effort!

Ben Reith has rated some very nice game over the last few months also the Fallow bucks taken from this years rut went 210D and 191DS, and a great Fox with and excellent picture to boot that’scored 10 1/16DS, very nicely done Ben and we all at TT congratulate on some very good trophies and pictures also!

Sean Walsh from Cobar on a trip up north on one of his first Chital hunts managed to take a pearler of a Stag that went 171 3/8DS, a very big achievement first time out Sean and congratulations from all at TT, a top effort!

Paul woods on a recent trip out with and heap of other TT members, all crammed in small boats. The mob all super keen board hunters of the like of Adam Greentree, Antonio Lara, Dough Stojanovski, Paul Thomson all managed lots of boars and a few good billies, but lucky Paul managed to take down a absolute corker of a boar while on the trip, it scored and wrapping 32DS!, Congratulations Paul as well as all the other members on your success on the trip, sure they a few more stores to come out of this trip..

On the small game front, Steven Holgate rated two very good foxes of late as well and a very big feral cat, the foxes scored 10 4/16 and 10 1/16DS and the cat scored 8DS, well done Steven!

Also Dave Whiting signed his son and rated another fine fox to add to his ever expanding and expressive total of foxes taken with his recurve. Young Scott Whiting’s Billy went 70 4/8DS and the Fox scored 9 4/15DS, nice way to join TT! While Dave’s Fox scored 10 3/16DS and another fine achievement with traditional gear, congratulations guys, and welcome to TT Scott!

Will Ellen has taken the number one Hog deer spot off Jordy Appleby. The awesome 15+ inch Stag was taken in the first week of April and scores 96 5/8DS! Awesome year you've been having Will and a big congratulations on truly an awesome trophy, all at Trophy Takers congratulate you and are all impressed!

Trevor Willis has continued his awesome lucky run, taking a massive long, wide Fallow buck while hunting with Pete Morphett pre rut this yeah, the very mature Buck was coaxed in the 29m when Trevor made a low heart shot on the huge animal but with a little interesting tracking job, made the trophy one Trevor will never forget anytime soon, the 32+inch long Buck and over 30” wide with over 18 inches of palm length scored a whopping 250 6/8 DS! Absolutely awesome stuff Trevor your luck and dedication is paying off, congratulations from all at TT!

Adam Greentree has rated another two excellent Red Stag as well as a host of big Fallow Bucks, details should appear in a mag sometime soon, but in the meantime check out their scores and pic’s in their respective sections, again congratulations Adam some awesome trophies for sure!

Chris Hervert and long-time TT member has taken his best Fallow buck to date this year, the 222 3/8DS Buck was tricked into to position for Chris’s max distance of 35m and is one very nice trophy indeed, and he rated a very good 29DS Boar from up north back in 2011 which is also Chris’s PB well done Chris I know you have been putting in the hard yards and we congratulate you on the fine trophies!

Mark Southwell our rating and membership director ventured across the ditch recently to have a go at Thar the TT boys (Paul Southwell, Mark, and Jarrod Vyner) had some very interesting stalks in the high altitude and very slippery shale and potential life threatening and dangerous mountainous conditions on the 10 day hunt but the Southwell boys managed to score on a few Bulls, but some because of their final resting places were not recoverable but Mark’s best Bull scored 34DS! Really well done guys, we know that country is not for the faint hearted!

Stuart Allan has joined Trophy Takers with a very fine representative Rusa of late! The Stag is Stuarts first and was taken at a nice 35m and put down with one very well placed arrow, also Stuart nailed and massive Dingo that has easily taken the number one slot in the exotic ratings for Wild Dogs ratings, welcome to TT Stuart and congratulations we are sure there is more to come!

Shane Dupille has rated one very nice feral cat of late, the big moggy scored 7 11/16 DS and sits in the number 13 poison, well done mate, you have done well and the native wild life will love you for it!

Paul Southwell has done it again, yes after he was knocked off for the number 1 Chital Stag position by Trevor Willis the resident Chital master has taken back the number 1 position with another very, very fine trophy, the big Stag fell a one well-placed arrow and scored 197DS!
Awesome effort again Paul and a big congratulations on another brilliant Stag, Trophy Takers and its members all congratulate you again!

Also another two new members joined TT with two exceptional trophies the White brothers Dave and Josh have rated two very impressive trophies! First Josh 52 inch Billy is one most bow hunters never see in their lifetime let along take one, the 144+ DS monster was taken out of the mountains close to his home recently and is one of the most symmetrical trophies we have seen, not to be left out Dave rated and excellent south coast Rusa Stag that scored 202 4/8DS, congratulations guys on your trophies of a life time and welcome to Trophy Takers!

Shane Ross joined TT with a very respectable Boar, which scored 25 2/8DS, and also new TT member Mark Pitts with a very nice respectable Rusa Stag of 151DS, Trophy Takers welcomes you and hope to see your future trophies entered here!

Long time TT member and mad fox slayer Shane Dupille rated some nice Billies and nice red coat of late they scored, 112+, 106+, 106 and 10 1/16 DS respectfully, as always excellent effort Shane!
